Summary/Abstract: The article aims at presenting to the Polish reader Hebrew literary journals which were published in Warsaw in the interwar period, with particular stress on the criticism of Polish literature. It problematises the attitude of Hebrew publicists towards the literary heritage in Poland, to the oeuvre of such writer as Mickiewicz or Wyspiański. Critical texts discussed here are not only the reflection of the writers' engagement in the literary life in Poland, but also of their attitude – at times very critical, in other instances devoid of any criticism expression of affirmation of an author. One can thus find here both praises of Mickiewicz, as well as very severe criticism of Słonimski. Quite often however, as it will be made clear, it was not the literary analysis of a work which was a priority of a Hebrew publicist but the national motives drove their writing. So what foregrounds in the articles discussed are attitudes towards the Jews and their image in the work of Polish authors as well as biographical comments addressing the writer's descent.
