The determinants of taking early retirement

Summary/Abstract: The article identifies early retirement decision determinants in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the authors analyze the relative importance of these factors as compared to the factors determining retirement decision generally. In this context, it appears that the economic status of a person and a health play a crucial role, but the analysis also stresses the role of a group of factors related to work. Conclusions therefore support complex approaches of pension policy to increasing the real retirement age.
