Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the subject of job sharing, which has recently become a topic of particular interest in the Czech Republic following the decision by the government, via the issuance of an official government statement, to provide support for job sharing. This paper aims to contribute to the debate on whether job sharing really is able to meet all the associated expectations. The article discusses various definitions of job sharing, provides a summary of the various advantages and disadvantages and considers experience gained in other European countries.
