Discovering Olga Tokarczuk – on the reception of Flights in the Spanish-language press

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to investigate the reception of The Flights by Olga Tokarczuk in Spanish-speaking countries on the basis of the press reviews published in 2019/2020. In total 29 texts have been analysed, mainly reviews. The texts have been analysed in regard to the content and key words. Two main tendencies of reading have been discerned: biographical and universal. It has been demonstrated that Tokarczuk was recognized in Spain after having been awarded Nobel Prize and she started to be perceived as a discovery and a new woman’s voice in European literature.
