New contributions to the biography of writers from the Tințariu family

Summary/Abstract: One of the families that left indelible traces on the literary and cultural movement of the Romanians in the Serbian Banat in the first decades of the 20th century, the “Ţânţăreștii” originally from the town of Petrovasâla (Vladimirovaţ) near Panciova were the subject of numerous articles and volumes published by the author until now. We are talking about Nicolae, Alexandru, George and Ioan Ținţariu, to whom their sister’s son‑in‑law Nicolae Tomiciu is attached. This article makes new contributions, based on contemporary periodicals and archival documents, to a better knowledge of the role and involvement of the Ţinţariu brothers in the publishing, literature and Romanian theatrical life of the dualist monarchy in the years around the Great War.
