Summary/Abstract: Professor Dimiter Radev (1874 – 1954) was a notable Bulgarian music teacher, who is the author of the first Bulgarian textbooks of counterpoint, harmony (voice leading) and musicalforms. This study discusses aspects of his counterpoint textbook, particularly its part for strict style. His teaching and analytical approach is discussed and examples of his music are displayed.
