Key Aspects of 3D Printing and its Application in Education

Summary/Abstract: In the era of digital transformation, we are witnessing an extremely rapid development of technologies. They usually have an integrative nature and find application in various aspects of modern life. One such technology is three-dimensional printing or 3D printing. This article is a review in its nature. It examines the historical aspects of the emergence of 3D printing, traces the main stages of the process of building models with this technology, provides an overview of the most commonly used technologies and describes the main characteristics of the materials that are most easily applicable in an educational environment. The main problems facing the widespread introduction of technology into the educational process are analyzed and some directions for resolution of the problems are proposed.
