Summary/Abstract: After half a century since it has been conceptualized (R.K. Merton, 1948), there is still research in different social sciences carried out about the phenomenon of self-fulfilling prophecy. In the case below, this phenomenon has been approached through an experiment (feb. 1999) from the perspective of psychosociology. It has been proven that self-fulfilling prophecy can be used as a technique of behavioral manipulation. The technique, labeled "the implicit self-fulfilling prophecy", is described as a four stage process. The experiment has highlighted the importance of drive toward achievement of the target persons as an intermediary variable in the behavioral manipulation through the implicit self-fulfilling prophecy.
