Writing Astrology Names in Printed Publications

Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the research of writing astrological names (ANs), which was started by the author in the previous issue of the Bendrinė kalba. After analyzing the writing of ANs on astrology websites, this paper analyzes their writing in printed publications which are the usual environment for the functioning of a standard language. Based on 10 books on astrology, the aim is to assess the extent to which ANs writing tendencies are common to websites and printed publications, and to determine whether they are influenced by the online environment. The paper reveals the similarity of writing tendencies and confirms the results of previous work showing that only a part of the ANs writing is invariant. The writing of others, like on astrology sites, is variant, and this variability is determined by several factors. By confirming the factors which began to emerge in the previous work, this work leads to a deeper and more substantiated analysis of the factors, and complements it with new insights.
