Summary/Abstract: Some groups of concepts occupying an important place in the modern stage of Security Science when entering the Risk Society are considered - "swans" by Nassim Taleb (supplemented by the author); Frank Knight's definitions of risk and uncertainty (also supplemented by the author); Donald Rumsfeld's cognitive quantities; and the scientific categories of the "CReDiT" relation (challenge-risk-danger-threat). Nassim Taleb considers “swan” events - white (frequent and predictable), gray (rare and predictable) and black (rare and unpredictable). To them are added the so-called “silvery swans” (rare and unpredictable), which are often the main focus of attention and basic resource planning. According to Frank Knight, risk is measurable uncertainty, and unmeasurable uncertainty is uncertainty it self. Certainty in this sense is measurable certainty. It remains to characterize the unmeasurable certainty – this is actually insecurity. Donald Rumsfeld considers the following cognitive quantities - the known knowns, the known unknowns, the unknown knowns, the unknown unknowns. If we systematize the concepts challenge, risk, danger, threat by degree of: community; uncertainty; dependence on a given subject; binding with insecurity; immediacy of destructiveness; and time of countermeasures; then their relation (arrangement) can be transmitted through the acronym "CReDiT". The analysis shows that all these concepts - Nassim Taleb's "swans" (supplemented by the author), Frank Knight's definitions of risk and uncertainty (also supplemented by the author), Donald Rumsfeld's cognitive quantities and the scientific categories of the "CReDiT" relation (challenge-risk-danger-threat) can be tied to an integrative scheme. This is in fact completely natural and logical, as long as they all participate effectively in the construction of the essence, meaning and content of the basic scientific category "Security".
