The Commission for the History of Romanian Towns and its 30 Years of Activity

Summary/Abstract: The article is a brief assessment of the Commission for Romanian Towns History activity in the three decades since its establishment in 1992, on the academician Paul Niedermaier's initiative and with the Romanian Academy's support. The issues outlined in the article refer to the establishment of the Commission, the status and program of activity, the main projects, scientific activities and events, periodical publications and the medal of the Commission. In conclusion, we highlighted that setting up the Commission for Romanian Towns History was a necessary and viable project, the best proof of this being its three decades of uninterrupted activity full of outstanding scientific results.
