Summary/Abstract: The study presents a method of motivating students of early childhood education to solve mathematical problems on their own. Interactive classes were proposed, during which students solved mathematical problems on individual thematic islands. While learning, they made use of the manipulation of objects. The research was carried out in the action research procedure. The results of the study were described in four areas of the researcher's activities: preparation of the learning environment (research organization), observation of the respondents, communication with students (interviews with students), use of the results.
