Summary/Abstract: The authors of the article make a foray into the vast field of medical protection against weapons and agents of mass destruction, in particular, chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN), as an important concern of current military medicine, explaining some specific terms and recalling some relevant events in the field. The article presents a brief history of the evolution of weapons and the classification of modern weapons, including CBRN, highlighting aspects of specific protection of the Military Forces and the population, with medical-military aspects of prevention and treatment, as well as some organizational aspects.
