Summary/Abstract: The Luculești peoples come from a family of Moldavian boyars with modest origins, the first known being the priest Istrate, married to Călina, with whom he has a son, Luca, whose first name became the patronymic of his descendants. A connoisseur of books, Ștefan Luca, the trusted man of the lords of Moldova, is sent by Dimitrie Cantemir with a message to the Tsar of Russia Peter the Great, with whom he meets in Yaroslav and Lutsk, where the Moldovian-Russian convention was signed. The treasurer Ștefan Luca has a land patrimony that is difficult to establish, consisting of dozens of villages and parts of villages. We highlight a set of documents regarding its estates located on both banks of the Prut River, especially in the historical land of Fălciu.
