Summary/Abstract: Before addressing the subject of the „Russian-Ukrainian War”, it is necessary to reiterate some aspects of the Dniester war, launched in 1991-1992 by the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova. It is known that on the current territory of the Republic of Moldova, Russian troops have a history of over 200 years. For the first time, the Russian armies were permanently deployed on part of the territory of the Republic of Moldova - in Transnistria, following the Peace Treaty of Iași in 1791. Over the years, the Russian armies of occupation were a tool for promoting first of the expansionist policy of the Russian tsars, then of the Soviet authorities, and after the dismemberment of the USSR, they became a major factor of pressure in order to maintain power in the former SSR of some pro-Russian governments and to support Transnistrian separatism.
