Distance Education in Musical Field from Romania: Past, Present and Perspectives

Summary/Abstract: Distance education as a form of instructional organization is based on innovative teaching approaches, developed in response to the need for initial and/or permanent training of adult population. At the same time, distance education is a promoter of the information society, implementation and use of modern technologies in education and research being an interdisciplinary field of great importance to the phenomenon of contemporary education. Specific forms of distance learning education, adopted in the musical field in Romania as well, appear to be a system of increasing importance in Europe, today and tomorrow.
