Summary/Abstract: Constituting nation-states in Europe carried along several ambiguities about the status of people who belong to another ethnicity. Nowadays, when referring to democratic EU member states, the ethnic definition remains a fundamental indicator of the administrative and political rights of its inhabitants. Most of these countries are governed and ruled by right-wing governments, therefore we find duality in defining their citizens. Linking between the state and nationals is reciprocal in many segments, but there is a mutual imbalance between nationals within involvement in politics and decision-making, although some foreigners already have been equipped with the citizenship act of the state where they work. This finding is a clear indication of a violation of freedoms and human rights, even human dignity as an undeniable right guaranteed by all international conventions.
