Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes lexical variants from the text of the book of Genesis in Croatian-Glagolitic breviaries of the northern and southern textological groups. Variants were divided into several groups according to their type and origin. In the group of variants at the places with the same semantics in the Greek and Latin texts, it is confirmed that in the breviaries of the northern group most (85%) lexemes are the same as in Old Church Slavonic paroimarion, while in the breviaries of the southern group it is only in 15% of cases. In the non-paroimarion texts, which were translated into Croatian-Glagolitic breviary from Latin, the breviaries of the northern group have lexemes well documented in the oldest Old Church Slavonic manuscripts, while in the southern group of breviaries the variant words are either little documented or not recorded in the so-called canonical Old Church Slavonic manuscripts.
