Summary/Abstract: This short paper is based on the documentary material from state archives in Romania. It presents some letters sent to the party and state leadership but mainly to the leader Nicolae Ceaușescu as an expression of the support of the policy conducted during the Warsaw treaty’s intervention in Czechoslovakia. Without drawing some general conclusions the article is aiming to show a new source which could be useful for the study of the public attitudes towards the leader, the enemies from within and outside and the self perception of the Romanian people in the crucial for Eastern Europe as a whole and Romania in particular 1968.
