Summary/Abstract: Admitting that the secret Report Nikita Khrushchev presented at the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) was indeed extraordinary, Jacques Droz showed, however, that the unusual character came not from the disclosures made, many of those events being known in general. It was the lifting of the veil from what had been repressed, the admission of the mistakes (actually of the monstrous crimes), in brief the saying of the “unspeakable” that would shatter the communist beliefs.
