Summary/Abstract: Following the archaeological research carried out in the years 1957–1960 and 2019 in theRoman fort of Orheiu Bistriței, Cetate commune, Bistrița-Năsăud county, a significant amountof archaeological material were brought in the deposits of the Bistrița-Năsăud Museum Complex, predominantly pottery. All of whom was recently inventoried and processed, to be published in the future. Among the ceramic forms identified in the research, a number of 23 fragments of mortaria vessels, stand out and are analyzed in this study. Although fragmented, a typology could be established for some of the pieces: a) small mortaria; b) mortaria with arched lip, strongly profiled. A series of fragments also present some special characteristics, the same archaeological context of discovery, identical dimensions, the same type of paste or identical color, something that could attest to the existence of local workshops for their production.
