Summary/Abstract: Education in the 21st century has reached a very high level. There has beena significant development of computerization, medical sciences, pharmaceuticals, technical sciences and other areas important from the point of view of social life.Unfortunately, over time, education has been subjected to an unpredictable and dif-ficult test. Namely, education had to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic that desta-bilized the entire country, including the school system. Due to the need to protectone of the most important human values, which is health, the legislator limited thefunctioning of many institutions and enterprises. The restrictions also applied to thefunctioning of universities. Thus, the stationary education system has changed to anelectronic form. This form was a huge novelty for both research and teaching staffand students. It required adapting to changes, providing well-functioning equipment,as well as training in the use of IT programs. After two years of the remote form,it can be clearly stated that it brings both many benefits and many advantages. Thebeneficial effect is seen in better organization of work, economic savings, time savingsand the possibility of taking up a job. Nevertheless, the indicated advantages will notoutweigh the disadvantages of remote teaching. Among the shortcomings, the inabi-lity to control the actual presence and involvement of the student, a decrease in thecredibility of teaching results, passive attitude of students, disturbance of the teachingsystem, disappearance of interpersonal contacts, disappearance of tradition, as well asnumerous health problems are clearly visible. It is worth noting that hybrid learningis a tool with great potential, which could translate very positive into the functioningof universities and could be the golden mean between stationary science and distancelearning. Nevertheless, there is too much room for improvement to be considered anattractive form of teaching.
