Summary/Abstract: The fast development of the diagnostic, therapeutic and pharmaceutical medical technologies is a prerequisite for availability of highly educated medical specialists. The necessity of medical specialists all over the world increases, but in our country the situation is a crisis. The National Health Strategy 2014-2020, ascertains the insufficiency of nurses and outlined several strategic objectives to overcome the problem. Studying the mechanisms of motivation valid for the profession of a nurse is of particular significance for increasing the interest of its practicing. To be a health-care professional in Bulgaria is a bold endeavour, at which less and less of our compatriots are able to stand. The nurses are an important and valuable resource of our health-care system. Studying the professional orientation and motivation of the future nurses is important not only from the point of view of the choice of the career of nurse, but also from the point of view of the adequate choice of a starting point in one’s career (Georgieva A.&Nuri N., 2013).
