Summary/Abstract: The subject of the theoretical study is the characteristics of pupils with double exceptionality - intellectual giftedness and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)at a younger school age, with a focus on the specifics of their education and the elimination ofundesirable manifestations of problem behaviour, which we consider to be key in increasing their school success in terms of inclusion. The focus is on identifying key deficiencies in the emotional and social competence of these students and defining intervention approaches to overcome them in everyday school and extracurricular activities, which represent a combination of several procedures, e.g. pharmacological treatment, psychological and therapeutic-pedagogical interventions and counseling, special pedagogical approaches in upbringing and education, etc. The presented issue is part of the currently ongoing research, the results of which will be presented in a special scientific study focusing on the specifics of developing the reading competence of a student with intellectual gifts and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in the conditions of school inclusion.
