Summary/Abstract: During my fieldwork project in Gardzienice village near Lublin, and in the Staniewski Centre for Theatre Practices "Gardzienice" I discovered a specific social conflict between the "Theatre" and the "Village". The unique indicator of this conflict was a theatrological metaphor: "a man of Gardzienice", which was understood by rural residents to be a humiliation and an assault on their humanity. The article analyzes the structure of this theatrological metaphor as a social effect of infrahumanization, which is an example of an aesthetic process of objectification a man in the discourse of art as the real cause of social conflict. The study deals with two questions: the first is about the quality and dignity of cultural contact, which becomes the foundation of theatrical art, and the second is, who is the man who was reduced to the function of an object of aesthetic ready made?
