Summary/Abstract: Felt is a textile product that has many uses in human history from past to today, according to the findings obtained from various archaeological excavations, although the exact date of its emergence is not known. Felt, which was obtained by traditional methods in the past, preserves this feature in some regions, but today it is produced in factories using mostly technological tools due to changing life conditions. Felt has taken its place as a traditional craft in Kilis as well; however, it has become one of the lost crafts as a result of changing living conditions and needs over time. Various materials were produced from felt to put on the back and neck of animals, room felt was made for village rooms, and clothes were made for shepherds. In this article, according to the data obtained from our interview with Hüseyin Gültekin, the last master of the felt making craft in Kilis; It is aimed to introduce the felt making craft, which is among the lost crafts in Kilis, and its last master, by giving information about the technical and material properties of felt production, usage areas, the past and today of the felt making craft in Kilis. Literature review, field research method and interview technique were applied on the subject.
