Summary/Abstract: The article refers to a number of bioethical issues whose lack of complex answers has been dragging on since their inception. The lack of an official position of the Church on some of these dilemmas gives way to secularizing interpretation of ethics, with many detrimental consequences. Among the existing problems, the author mentions – in the form of two directions – the main bioethical dilemmas that arise at the beginning of life (assisted reproduction techniques, embryo research, genetic determinism, prenatal testing, eugenics, contraception) and at its end (the patient’s right to know the truth, futile treatments, ethics of opioid medication administration, need for palliative care centers in contrast to euthanasia centers)
