Summary/Abstract: The establishment of the modern Macedonian state and the introduction of Macedonian language as its official language, created favorable conditions for further development and codification of the Macedonian language. In a relatively short historical period – from the creation of the Macedonian state in 1944 until its independence – the Macedonian language, overcoming challenges primarily of a political nature both within the Yugoslav federation and outside its borders, became the basis on which Macedonian literary creativity, education, culture, literature, science and art were built upon. It was, and still is, the subject of interest and study at numerous foreign universities.
