Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze the perception of social competences among students of the The John Paul University of Applied Sciences in Biała Podlaska during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic during distance learning. Material and methods: The research was carried out by the method of a diagnostic survey,for the needs of which a questionnaire was developed. 76 students from The John Paul University of Applied Sciences in Biała Podlaska participated in the study. Results: The respondents obtained knowledge about the pandemic mainly from the Internet. The most common effect of a pandemic experienced by students was stress. According to students, distance learning increased the amount of free time and had a positive impact on planning own work, but the greatest difficulty during its duration was the lack of contact with colleagues. The vast majority of respondents noticed the need to constantly improve their social competences. Conclusions: Social competences and their development are gaining more and more importance, especially in the uncertain and difficult times of the second decade of the 21st century.
