He was a certified expert in the Kukuzelian and Chrisantic systems of musical notation, both of which he had deeply explored alongside Dionisie Fotino and Petru Emanuil Efesiu in Bucharest. Due to his extensive knowledge and training, he became a singer in the churches of Bucharest, he translated and composed plenty of musical pieces in Romanian which resulted in the creation of a valuable repertory dedicated to the Church and to the Romanian musical and educational system, as established in various historical and psaltic music documents.
