Summary/Abstract: Searching for the Absolute. In memoriam Rosa del Conte (1907 – 2011). The article is an attempt to summarize the long and fruitful life of one of the most dedicated “ambassadors” of Romanian literature in the Western world: Rosa del Conte. As teacher, literary critic or translator, Rosa del Conte has been an extraordinary role model for her students, in respect to both academic rigor and moral rectitude. After a life spanning 104 years, Rosa del Conte’s heritage lives on in her books, her students and the Italian school of Romanian Studies, in which she invested her passion all throughout her life.
