APPLICATION OF THE .NET PLATFORM PROJECTS FOR WEB DEVELOPMENT

Summary/Abstract: The Microsoft .NET platform is one of the most popular in web application development and offers a large number of types of projects with specific features and requirements. Software companies and individual developers need to know their specifics to be able to make appropriate choices when building new applications or transforming existing ones.The article discusses the main types of web projects supported by the .NET platform, analyzing and comparing them by their main characteristics. The factors and requirements that influence the selection of the appropriate type of .NET project are presented. A matrix of project productivity has been developed. A methodology for evaluation and selection of an appropriate type of web project, incl. using a mathematical apparatus is developed. The developed and proposed productivity matrix and project selection methodology can help the choice of developers and improve the efficiency of the final product. The conclusions drawn can be used in the learning process of both students and practitioners.
