Summary/Abstract: Since 1995, Professor Angelo Codevilla has been an officer in the US Navy, then a lecturer at Grove City College in North Dakota and Georgetown University, a US Foreign Service Officer and a member of the Reagan Cabinet on the Department's Transition Team. His area of interest was Western Europe, particularly on issues affecting the US intelligence community. He was also a member of the US Senate Office of Intelligence Oversight and a fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. After 2011, Professor Angelo Codevilla began to publish a series of analyzes on the war on terror waged by the US in cooperation with its allies. This article presents Professor Codevillaʾs analysis of a decade of US security policies and the results achieved domestically and internationally. He calls this period "the lost decade" and draws attention to the many mistakes of the American ruling class and their consequences, since then heralding a defeat in the war on terror.
