Summary/Abstract: French first names are connected with the origins of the French population, which has been the result of a number of colonizations, invasions and immigrations. Onomatology is closely related to linguistics, most of the first names bearing a distinct acceptation. In this article, we are going to analyse the masculine first names of Hebrew origin, trying to remark and underline the influence of the Hebrew language on the French anthroponymy, by working out a corpus of first names.
