Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the figure of the nomadic subject examined through a standardized ‘sedentary gaze’. The progress of Western theory’s perception of the topic is followed throughout 20th century and through it ‒ the transformation of the nomad from an object of derogatory remarks to one of valorization. Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari’s concept of nomadology is analyzed through its philosophical and anthropological origins and its significant interdisciplinary impact on later studies.
