Summary/Abstract: The present study (Familie und Geschlechterverhältnisse in den Kurzgeschichten der Nachkriegszeit) focuses on several German short stories from the postwar period, texts which are relevant for their depiction of family and gender roles in the German society. After the Second World War, the German-language literature portrays families affected by trauma, torn apart by the war, where gender and family roles are disintegrated or wrecked and values such as compassion or love ar not taken into consideration anymore.
