Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the issue of unification and diversification of civil proceedings. The Author points out the reasons for the diversification of civil proceedings and the ways in which it is done. He also presents the role of non-contentious proceedings in the diversification of civil proceedings, as well as individual contentious proceedings created separately due to various criteria (subjective, objective and others). The issues discussed are presented on a broad comparative legal basis. It is presented how the situation of diversification of civil proceedings look like in some European countries, but also in the USA and Brazil. In conclusion, it was emphasized that separate proceedings must remain an exception to basic procedural rules and that civil cases should as far as possible be heard according to uniform procedural regulations.
