Summary/Abstract: After the period of time when the Romanian Orthodox Church was ministered by the Patriarch Miron Cristea (1925-1938), in Romania followed a turbulent period, marked by political changes, major losses of human lives and material damage caused by the Second World War, but also by the beginning of an oppressive regime, the communist regime. Together with the entire Romanian people, the Orthodox Church faced the same challenges and difficulties, seeking to remain with the people ministered by it, despite the restrictions and difficulties of all kinds. These major changes faced by the country between 1939-1948, marked the lives of the people and institutions of the Romanian state. At that time, our Church was run by a special personality of the Romanian Orthodoxy: Patriarch Nicodemus Munteanu.
