Summary/Abstract: "The aim of this article is to present the use of smartphones and an interactive whiteboard in English lessons, in order to improve the vocabulary knowledge of students, by means of information and communication technologies (ICT) and the gamification technique. The author shows the results of the latest consumer survey, carried out among children, theirparents and teachers on how the children use telecommunication services and what learning looked like last year. Then, he shortly describes the gamification technique in improving the vocabulary knowledge of students as well as compares different websites and games which can be best used on smartphones and the interactive whiteboard to achieve this goal."
