Dvyliktoji konferencija „Iš Panevėžio praeities“
The 12th Conference “From Panevėžys Past”

Summary/Abstract: The traditional conference „From Panevėžys Past“, dedicated to historical researches of Panevėžys city and region, was held on October 22, 2010. This year‘s major topic dealt with culture history. The conference was organized by Panevėžys museum of ethnography, and Jūratė Gaidelienė was the main coordinator. The event was sponsored by Panevėžys municipality, Culture Support Fund and Cultural Heritage Department of the Ministry of Culture). Speakers from different Lithuanian institutions attended the conference: Lithuanian National Museum, Lithuanian Culture Research Institute, Vilnius University, Mykolas Romeris University, etc.). Eight presentations were made which focused on such issues as peculiarities of folk art in Panevėžys region, works of art (the first half of the 20th century) in Panevėžys regional churches, the history of Elektra street (one of the oldest streets in Panevėžys), photography of interwar Panevėžys as well as other cultural aspects of this city
