Summary/Abstract: Over the years, the subject of the post-war displacement of Germans was treated in terms of “historical justice”, especially in the official rhetoric of the communist propaganda. Now it has become the subject of multidimensional redefinition and reevaluation in the literary discourses. Writers of the middle and younger generation (Radka Denemarková, Jaroslav Rudiš, Kateřina Tučková, Jakuba Katalpa), by enlivening the debate on the fate of German inhabitants of Czechoslovakia, strive to restore “difficult memory” and to expose the processes of repression and forgetting about own guilt resulting from expulsion of the 24 Anna Gawarecka former neighbours, apparently only due to the legitimacy of assigning collective responsibility to alleged supporters of Nazi crimes.
