Summary/Abstract: The present work analyzes a series of occurrences of descriptive sequences and description mechanisms in the discourse of televised advertisements for pharmaceutical products, through which specific forms, functions and effects can be established. The first part of the paper outlines a general framework for defining the advertising text, and the second focuses on the descriptive procedures, focusing on how they are updated in different advertising sequences.
