Summary/Abstract: The following article is meant to address one of the oldest titles ascribed to Virgin Mary: Mother of God the Prophetess. In Clarifying this title Holy Fathers used two biblical texts: Isaiah 8,3 and Luke 1,48. As well as Mariam, Mose's sister, the prophetess was seen as a prefiguration of prophetess Mary. Concerning this aspect Christianity has left its mark on the Muslim tradition so much so that some muslim exegetes regard Virgin Mary as a prophetess.
