Summary/Abstract: The Virgin Mary has been honoured from the beginnings of Christianity. Considering the fact that her Son is the King of all, she has been respected as a mother of a King. In time The Holy Fathers confirm the royalty of Virgin Mary tracing back from the 44 Psalm. Old testament figures such as Esher or Mother Queen are considered prefigurations of Virgin Mary. The fundamental truth of Virgin Mary's royalty is directly linked to the royalty of her Son, and the texts and images mentioned previously are nothing more than a confirmation of this detail.
