Summary/Abstract: This article aims to address the definitions encountered in fashion. Thus, starting from a descriptive analysis in which we review the meaning of the term definition and a short typology of definitions (conventional, natural, substantial, relational, alternative, as given by specialized lexicons, as well as lexicographic and semantic, strictly scientific and common mixed, being the result of the combination between the scientific and the usual mixed conditioned by the combination of mixed metalanguages underlying the interdisciplinary scientific lexicon, definition by translation, by derivation, by synonym), we will focus on the presentation of the definitions of terms in the field of clothing that are currently found in specialized or general dictionaries., we will provide examples for types of them. The typology of definitions represents the research base of several works of lexicologists, lexicographers and semanticists.
