The art of ultra-conservative rebellion. Discourse analysis

Summary/Abstract: The subject of article is the aspect of rebellion in the ultra-conservative discourse in the Polish field of visual arts. Using the achievements of sociological discourse analysis, critical sociology and the sociology of art by Pierre Bourdieu, the author analyzes works of art, written texts and other statements by artists who adhere to ultra-conservative values. Możdżyński, after a chapter devoted to the adopted theoretical and research perspective, examines the main themes and aspects of this newly emerging cultural phenomenon. The last chapter, closing the text, is devoted to the issue of the “long march through institutions” and the fight for cultural hegemony in the Polish field of art.
