Summary/Abstract: Last year of the War, as the previous ones, was marked with military actions and proposals for the termination of the war, coming from parties in the conflict, but also from political groups and organizations. Changeable situation on battlefield influenced the proposals of the states and requests of the non-governmental bodies. At the end, the balance of powers was decisive factor. Antanta was weakened due to the fact that Russia and Romania left the war, but that was compensated by the fact that United States of America entered into the War. On the other hand, Central Forces were weakened by the fact that Bulgaria and Turkey left the war. Therefore, Germany and Austrian-Hungarian Empire stayed. However, Hungary left the Empire and Germany and Austria remained alone and were forced to ask for the truce. Accordingly, the circumstances were established for the liberation of the territories occupied by Austrian-Hungarian Empire, including Bosnia and Herzegovina.
