Summary/Abstract: When we talk about Ana Blandiana and her poetry, it is necessary to relate it to the idea of neomodernism and the deconstruction of the canon as an innovative idea that her poetry brings among the ’60s generation. Fundamental, existential themes present in the universal lyric, are abundantly found in the work of Ana Blandiana. The binomials life-death, end-beginning, love-hate, knowledge-ignorance, freedom-captivity transparent from the poet's lyric with a great power of suggestion due to the mastery with which he masters the language. And yet, it strikes the "simplicity" of artistic expression, the audacity with which issues of such complexity can be treated with the "modesty" of a language stripped of artificiality the suggestive power of words being maximized, the author managing to open under the eyes of readers a whole universe of meanings. The imagistic and visionary richness of poetry is born from the intertextuality of simple and banal lyrics-words can attract a multitude of visual or lexical associations, they can close in their core symbols that leave room for a generous interpretation. Death, sleep, love, contemplation of the world, candour - are original thematic landmarks, defining for the lyrics of Ana Blandiana, a poet for whom the imaginary has metaphysical prestige, and the ideation with expressionist-blagian echoes.
