Summary/Abstract: The essays and journalistic work of Angela Marinescu are a natural extension of her poems, and extends the realm of theoretical with an inner psychology charged with lyricism and intellect. Confession has had a therapeutic purpose for Angela Marinescu (Marcovici), helping her cope with obsessions, and becoming an obsession with time. In her poems, confessions, selfportraits, interviews or essays, the author constantly presents her creed and manner of relating to herself and to the life around her and its significance. Her being and work has been marked by suffering and disease, which has turned her joy of creation into a tool rather than a pleasure, which granted her some degree of movement. The physical pain and the portrayal of the insanity of her existence made her an outcast; as her life, her writing it on the edge of bearable, an edge of the knife. The link between an artist’s life and their work is most relevant in the case of Angela Marinescu (Marcovici), who has turned language in the perfect instrument of relating her thoughts and way of living. This language, which often presents notes of violence, is a method of probing her own individuality, traumas and obsessions, her voice being charged with authenticity and the will to push beyond the limits of the humane. This language converts violence into creativity and a modus of expression.
