Marian Przełęcki and His Vision of Cognition (Non)scientific

Summary/Abstract: By means of the methods adopted in science, we acquire a considerable amount of knowledge about the world around us. However, we also formulate questions, the answers to which we must seek outside its boundaries. The text presents a reconstruction of the views of Marian Przelecki, who analyzed the areas of cognition beyond scientific standards. It presents the philosopher’s reflections on axiological cognition, philosophical cognition, as well as cognition gained through religious faith. The summary of the text is an attempt to indicate the areas in which the methods of non-scientific cognition intertwine with the methodological and object-oriented aspect of pedagogical research.
